Mr. Piyal De Silva started his career with DMS group of companies in the year 1984 and have been holding multiple positions in the last 35 years of his tenure with DMS group which. During his tenure he has played a leading role in propelling DMS Software Engineering (Pvt) Ltd to emerge as a software wing of DMS Group.

 

He also added Payroll BPO Services arm which is a quite successfully stream of business today having more than 60+ local and multinational companies served by DMS Payroll BPO Services.  

 

In 1990s he was associated with Central Bank of Sri Lanka – EPF Department on clearing of backlog of Entire Country Workforce Remittances by implementing a secure data capturing solution with accuracy and security. He was also handling Payment Voucher Solutions for Janasaviya beneficiaries through NSB Bank.

  

A hands-on practitioner, Mr. De Silva has spearheaded all key business operations of the company, particularly in introducing Payroll BPO services. He was once heading the sales and marketing department of DMS Software Engineering and was showcasing some outstanding performance by winning some of the trademark deals in the DMS history. During the mid of 90s he has been introducing some of the world-renowned products. One such is Datacard USA a card personalization solution which is being used in most of the large corporate enterprises and banks today in Sri Lanka.

He also has been appointed as an Assistant General Manager subsequently promoted as General Manager in 2003 and now holds the position of Director/General Manager. He has been known to introduce certain best management practices in the organization to uplift the quality of operations and services to their esteemed customers.

He was one of the found member of some of the leading industrial association. One such is Sri Lanka Association for Software Industry (SLASI). Now this association has been known in the industry as FITIS (Federation of Information Technology Sri Lanka). He has been serving the association in the capacity of President, Vice President and Treasure of the committee. While he was serving the industrial association he has been acting as head of delegation for APICTA and CEBIT.
